Our Committed Board of District Directors
The title of District Director is given to individuals who have been elected or appointed to serve on a conservation district board.
The function of the conservation district is to take available technical, financial, and educational resources, whatever their source, and focus or coordinate them so that they meet the needs of local land used for conservation of soil, water, and related resources.
Zach Flegel
Zach is our Board Chair and represents Zone 1. He has been on the board since 2018 and was elected for a second term in 2022. His agricultural knowledge and experience working with farmers all over the state allow him to be an asset to the district and community.Zach represents an at large position .
Jason Dennis
Jason is a farmer in Prineville and represents Zone 1 on the board. He contributes his knowledge about irrigation efficiency and farming practices to our organization.
Marcus Rossi
Marcus represents Zone 2 where he works on his family ranch on Beaver Creek. He brings a rich knowledge of business, history, and ranching to the board.
John W. Dehler III
John was born in and has lived in Crook County most of his life. As a 3rd generation agribusiness owner, John has experience in farming, ranching, and the forestry industry, as well as being active in wildlife conservation in and around Crook County. John represents an at large position.
Gary Bedortha
Gary Bedortha is our secretary and represents Zone 3 which covers the east county north of the Crooked River. His family ranch has been at the forefront of sage grouse conservation through the implementation of practices to stabilize and improve habitat.
